RESPONSIBILITY OF DEPARTMENTS & OTHER DIVISIONS AS SPONSORS
Departments interested in inviting international scholars to NMSU should read carefully the obligations imposed on NMSU by the Department of State and the administrative responsibilities placed on the J Exchange Visitor Services (JEVS). NMSU may only invite international scholars under the J visa exchange program who are qualified to engage in the activities proposed by the program. To invite an international scholar, the department or other division of NMSU must submit (1) the Departmental Responsibilities Agreement for Sponsoring J-1 International Scholars and (2) NMSU DS-2019 Request Form for International Scholars (Version 2: 10/2009)
