NMSU EXCHANGE VISITOR PROGRAM OBLIGATIONS
As an authorized sponsor of the J Visa Exchange Visitor Program, NMSU has agreed that it will:
• Adhere to all regulations governing the exchange program (22 C.F.R. Part 62)
• Maintain legal status as a university
• Comply with all local, state, federal, and professional requirements necessary to carry out exchanges
• Fully inform the public and exchange visitors about the nature and extent of exchanges being offered
• Maintain financial capability to meet at all times the university's financial obligations and responsibilities attendant to successful sponsorship of our exchange visitor program
• Provide "adequate staffing and sufficient support services" to administer an exchange visitor program and ensure that all "employees, officers, agents, and third parties involved in the administration of the exchange visitor programs are adequately qualified, appropriately trained, and able to comply with the Exchange Visitor Program regulations."
The regulations governing support and staffing represent a significant commitment on the part of NMSU to be in compliance. As an exchange program sponsor, NMSU must have one Responsible Officer (RO), and may designate other Alternate Responsible Officers (AROs) to administer the program according to the regulations.
